Our Strategic Focus Areas

The Foundation’s programme of work is structured around four strategic focus areas central to national development. Each focus area is advanced through a dedicated faculty that integrates research, policy engagement, and stakeholder collaboration.

The Heritage faculty positions heritage as a strategic national and socio-economic asset. It focuses on diverse historical and cultural legacies, including Bantu, Khoisan, Afrikaner, African business, innovation, and marginalised heritage, to support social cohesion, identity formation, and inclusive economic opportunity.

#1 – Heritage

The State Capability faculty supports the development of an effective and capable state across all spheres of government. Key areas of work include intergovernmental relations, public administration reform, public service professionalisation, fragility studies, and the determinants of sector-specific service
delivery.

State Capability

#2 – State Capability

The Strategic Stakeholder Relations faculty facilitates national consensus through social and economic compacting, strategic policy lobbying, and the localisation of international commitments. It supports alignment among government, business, labour, and civil society to advance shared development objectives.

Food Sovereignty
